The Rehabilitation Centre is 27 km away from Sandakan town and has an area of 43 sq. km. It’s here that one can see the orang utans in their natural habitat. The young orang utans which for one reason or another have been held in captivity are trained to live on their own in the wild at Sepilok. Also kept within the sanctuary are three very rare Sumatran Rhinos. They have been brought to the sanctuary for captive breeding. At any one time you might be able to see a number of different animals in the area. Wild orang utans, red – leaf monkeys and gibbons plus the lowland birds are very well represented in the forest here.10:00am feeding time, 11:00 video show, dept for Lunch, After lunch if time permitted visit city tour then to airport for departure.
